1. Characteristics of a cat’s face

When you’re drawing a cat’s face, you should first gain a feel for the characteristics of the cat’s face by looking at images and other sources of inspiration. The black region of the eye is a big and spherical area of the eye (the white of the eye is almost invisible). Jaw is rather little. There is a little amount of dangling eyeballs in the eyes that are almond-shaped. Ears are shaped like huge triangles. 2 Draw the outline

To proceed, create a new layer and shape it with solid lines after the location has been determined. Keep the skeleton in mind as you’re sketching out the outline of your drawing. Especially in the case of long-haired or chubby cats, the jaw line is rounded and the skeletal line may be clearly seen. It will be no longer exist. Being aware of the skeleton, on the other hand, makes it simpler to photograph the skeleton and the ooze by capturing the placement of sections and other characteristics of the skeleton.

I’ve built a layer beneath the layer for the solid lines to construct the rough skeleton of the character. Draw the contour of the skeleton at this point. I’m going to leave the ears where they are for the time being since I want to move them when I’ve finished sketching the eyes.

3 Draw the eyes

After the outline has been completed, I begin drawing the eyes. I draw the eyes by reference to the position of the first vertical line that runs from the center to the left and right sides of the picture frame. The distance between the eyes should be approximately 1.5 times as much as the distance between one eye. Remember to keep an eye out for the eyes that are somewhat drooping. 4 Draw a nose

After the eyes have been sketched, we may go on to drawing the nose and other features. The nostrils of a cat are fashioned like a slit, and the nose is shaped like a downward facing triangle. Because it is an extension of the eye socket, I will create a smaller extension along the horizontal line that splits the bottom half of the face into two halves.

5 Draw the mouth and chin

There is a single line that runs beneath the cat’s nose and leads to the mouth of the animal. The lips and chin will be made smaller in this drawing. The beard develops from the bulge that forms between the nose and the corners of the lips. 6 Draw an ear

By the way, when they are comfortable, their ears are somewhat pushed outward from their heads.

7 Line and color in

The outline and other elements will be adjusted now that the entire picture has been sketched and completed. We will now paint the color when we have finished making the necessary adjustments. Using an oval shape with slightly pointed ends that are inclined slightly inwards, create the eyes. Draw the nose as near as possible to a triangle, with the bottom end of the triangle slightly trimmed off
2. Two sets of curving lines should be drawn starting from the inner corners of the eyes and ending at or near the tip of the nose. These will be used to simulate the bridge of the cat’s nostrils. Step 1: Draw the Top of the Cat’s Head

After everything is said and done, my friends, this is the final tutorial in this series; it has been a pleasure to share them with you! Because we began with a cat, I reasoned, “Why not conclude with a cat as well?” We previously learned how to draw a battle-scarred cat using digital media, but now we’ll be learning how to draw a cat with graphite pencils! You will require the following items: A piece of paper and a couple of pencils (I used a 2B and a mechanical pencil) a pencil with an eraser To begin, we simply need to draw a few simple shapes—sounds simple, doesn’t it?

1. Begin by softly drawing a circle in the center of your page.
2. Last but not least, draw a curved line on either side of the circle, as illustrated in the illustration below.
3. Add two almond-shaped eyes as your next step, making care to leave at least one eye-width of space between your cat’s eyes so that everything is properly balanced.
4. Create a nose for your cat by connecting those lines with an upside-down triangle.
5. You may now draw a light collar around the cat’s neck if you so like.
6. If you want to include a name tag on your collar, you may draw a circle around it.
7. Starting with little amounts of shading, identify spots to place them in such that when you come back and add the fur, you will have a notion of which way the fur is flowing.

Pay close attention to the direction in which the fur is moving.

Use a modest amount of pressure on your pencil to deepen the fur behind the collar.

Continue to add fur strokes to the cat’s face and begin darkening the chest area with broad pencil strokes (hair on the face is smaller and finer than fur on the rest of the cat’s body).

Lightly draw small hairs on the cat’s muzzle—your pencil markings should be barely visible—while continuing adding darker tones to the cat’s muzzle.

Make a second pass over the regions you’ve already sketched, darkening any spots that require it.

Light shading should be applied to the tag on the cat’s collar, with one spot left totally white to give it a metallic appearance.

Step 2: Draw the Cat’s Ears

Draw a line downwards from each of the cat’s ears and join them together. The contour of the cat’s body will be represented by these lines.

Step 6: Draw the Cat’s Mouth

Draw the cat’s mouth as shown in the illustration below. To represent the cat’s mouth, draw an upside-down v from the tip of the cat’s nose to the bottom of the cat’s mouth.

Step 7: Draw the Whiskers

Draw the whiskers on the cat’s face by drawing straight lines that extend outwards from the cat’s mouth.

Step 8: Draw the Cat’s Front Legs

Draw three straight lines running downwards from the front of the cat’s body to the base of the tail. It is from these lines that your cat’s two front legs will be formed.

Step 9: Draw the Front Paws

At the front of the cat’s body, draw three straight lines extending downwards. The two front legs of your cat will be formed by these lines.

Step 10: Draw the Cat’s Back Leg

Draw three straight lines at the front of the cat’s body that extend downwards. The two front legs of your cat will be created by these lines.

Step 11: Draw the Other Back Leg

Following that, we’ll sketch the other hind leg of your cat to complete the picture. Because this second leg is behind the cat and on the other side of the page, I am not painting the thigh, but only the narrow portion of the leg that extends forward from the foot.

Step 12: Draw the Cat’s Tail

Drawing the cat’s tail will be the final stage in this procedure. The hair may be whatever length or shape you want: long, short, fluffy, or slender.

How to Draw a Cat Step by Step

This basic step-by-step lesson demonstrates how to draw a cartoon cat, and it provides simple illustrated drawing samples for each stage. It is suitable for beginners. Step-by-step instructions for sketching a cat If possible, use light pencil lines for the first seven steps of this tutorial so that you may simply repair any mistakes that may have occurred.

Step 1 – Draw the Cats Head

Fur tufts will protrude from the sides of the cat’s head in this position.’ You are not have to be extremely exact in your drawing at this level because we will return to them in later phases.

Step 3 – Draw the Back Legs

To make the top of the head look half circle-like, draw a smaller curve for the bottom. You can insert some teeth, such as jagged edges, between these two curves. Step 4 – Draw the EarsTail

Step 5 – Draw the Snout

Step 6 – Draw the Eyes

Irises should be drawn inside the eyes. Alternatively, if you are going to color the design, you may also draw an outline around the highlights inside the irises to help you remember to keep them white.

Step 7 – Draw Some Fur

Drawing of a cat’s hair Add some fluff inside the cat’s ears and give the tail a slight “tip” to finish off the appearance of the cat a bit further. Make huge pointed clumps of ear fluff and arrange them on the ear. Small random sized clumps can also be used to define the tip of the tail.

Step 8 – Add the WhiskersFinish the Line Drawing

Line drawing of a cat To complete the line drawing, draw some whiskers from the sides of the top section of the cat’s nose to the tip of the snout.

After that, go over our line design with a black pen or a marker to make sure everything is clear. You may also just deepen the lines with a pencil if you want to be more subtle.

Step 9 – Color the Cat

Drawing of a cat You have complete freedom in choosing the color of the cat. In this example, we’ll use yellow for the main body and white for the feet, tail tip, nose, cheeks, and ear fluff, as well as the rest of the body. Cats often have green or grey/blue eyes and pink noses (as shown in this example), but you can choose any colors you like for your eyes and nose.

How to Draw a Cat: Learn How to Create a Unique Colorful Cat Drawing — Art is Fun

In this entertaining cat sketching lesson, you will learn how to draw a cat. However, this is no average cat — this is a Colorful Cosmic Cat, which means it is full of color and vibrancy! For those of you who have been advised that you shouldn’t paint elephants pink or sketch cows with purple stripes, then this painting lesson is for you! Throw away the rules that other people have set for you and let your creativity run wild! I’ll walk you through the process of creating this adorable cosmic cat with bright, psychedelic decorations.

(You can see one of them on the right-hand side of this page!) Almost any animal may be transformed into a Cosmic Creature, including rhinoceroses, horses, and kangaroos.

Ready to learn how to draw a cat?

Let’s get this party started! As a model, I utilized this cat shot that I took on a summer 2010 trip to Italy as inspiration: I cropped the shot so that you could get a close-up of his features. His expression is priceless, as he stares directly into the camera! Following that, I split the image into a basic grid by drawing a line through the centre of the image both horizontally and vertically: On my piece of paper, I sketched a grid that looked similar like this: To start, I drew a rectangle on my paper that was 7 inches wide and 7.75 inches tall.

• For the purpose of drawing the grid’s internal lines, I divided those dimensions in half.
• I then sketched the cat’s face on my piece of paper, following the grid as a reference.
• Learn how to draw a cat with the help of a grid.
• Take, for example, the snapshot of the cat and pay attention to the position of his ears.
• As a result, your task is to reproduce it on your paper.
• Draw using a delicate touch so that you can easily remove any mistakes.
• On their first attempt, no one gets it just perfectly.

Afterwards, I began working on the cat’s ears as follows: Once again, you have complete freedom to create whatever you desire!

I looked at the cat photo and selected the darkest parts of fur, which I then sketched in red with white polka dots on my drawing to represent the following: In between some of the red sections, I drew multiple orange circles within circles (sort of like a target shape) in between several of the orange circles: Afterwards, I drew yellow circles around the orange circles, like follows: The next stage was to fill in the rest of the blank spaces at the top of the cat’s head with shading and details.

I elected to color in those sections with a light blue and use a deeper blue to add some short “fur” lines to the edges of the shapes I had created.

I then went back and drew some dark blue fur lines into the red areas to help give the cat’s fur a bit more texture, which I think helped.

To understand what I’m talking about, look at the photo below and compare the accentuated whiskers with the blank whiskers.

Countdown to the start of the game I used this cat shot that I took during my summer 2010 visit to Italy as a model: His face is shown in close-up since I cropped the shot. His expression is priceless, and he’s looking directly into the camera. 3. Then you can transfer those positions to your paper in relation to the lines on your grid.
4. The fact that they are near the corners of the shot but not quite reaching the edge of the grid can be seen clearly in the image.
5. Consider how his chin is towards the bottom border of the shot, directly in the midst of his central vertical line, and trace that shape onto your paper to represent it.
6. (But, maybe more significantly, don’t be scared to make errors.) The first time you try something, you will almost always fail.

I elected to color in those sections with a light blue and use a deeper blue to add some short “fur” lines to the edges of the shapes I had drawn.

As an additional bonus, I went back and drew some dark blue fur lines into the red dots to give the cat’s fur a little more substance.

Recall those whisker indentations I sketched a moment ago?

Compare the accentuated whiskers in the photo below to the blank whiskers and you’ll understand what I’m talking about.
