How to Draw a Kitty Cat
Learn how to draw a kitty cat by following the steps laid forth in this article. This will be a very simple lesson that can be modified to suit the needs of people of various ability levels. This is not the first, and probably not the last, cat to be drawn on the pages of Drawingforall.net, as you can see here. In our last tutorial, we demonstrated how to draw cats, both realistic and cartoon cats. Due to the lack of intricate details or shadows, this drawing instruction on how to draw a kitty cat will be relatively straightforward.
Step 1
How to Draw a Kitty Cat will be covered in detail in this tutorial. This will be a very easy instructional that can be altered to suit the needs of people of all ability levels, including complete beginners. As a matter of fact, this cat has not been drawn on the pages of Drawingforall.net before, and it will most likely not be the last. The steps of drawing cats, both realistic and cartoon-styled, have already been demonstrated here. Due to the lack of complicated details or shadows, this drawing lesson on how to draw a kitty cat will be quite simple to follow.
Step 2
In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to design a kitty cat from scratch. This will be a very simple tutorial that can be tailored to suit the needs of people of various ability levels. As a matter of fact, this cat has not been drawn on the pages of Drawingforall.net before, and it will not be the last one either. So far, we’ve demonstrated how to draw cats, both realistically and cartoonically. Due to the lack of complicated details or shadows, this drawing lesson on how to draw a kitty cat will be quite simple to follow.
Step 3
Every element of the kittens’ bodies contributes to their overall cuteness. Aren’t eared kittens just the cutest thing ever? Using a rounded vertical contour of the tail and a set of ears that resemble regular triangles, we will create the final design for the tail and ears.
Step 4
They are especially cuter when you look at them from different angles. Isn’t it nice to have a kitten with a pair of ears? Using a rounded vertical shape of the tail and a set of ears that resemble regular triangles, we will create the final design for the tail in this stage.
Step 5
Our kitten’s lower half of his face should now be drawn. In order to do this, we will draw a mushroom-shaped form on the paper. In this section, we also provide a handful of extra oval shapes for good measure. The nose and cheeks of the cat are represented by these shapes.
Step 6
At the moment, we just have a rough drawing of this adorable kitty to work with. Because of this, we shall proceed to the creation of minor details in this phase.
Let’s start by sketching the inside of the kitten’s ears to get a feel for the shape. We won’t be able to draw all of the hair that covers the kitten’s body, but we will be able to sketch out little sections of it using small, quick strokes to give it a more realistic appearance.
Step 7
We’re still working on the finer details. In this stage, we’ll draw rounded short toes to finish our design. As you can see, the fingers appear to be protruding somewhat ahead of the body. This look may be achieved by drawing little horizontal lines over the top of each finger.
Step 8
So, we’re getting very close to finishing off this tutorial on how to draw a kitty cat. Here, we will simply remove all of the excess construction lines that we created in prior rounds. A pencil will also be used to trace the contour of the kitten’s body, its eyes, and several other features of the cat’s body. At this point, you’ll want to press down harder on your pencil. A silky fur texture is created on the kitten’s tummy, ears, and chest by painting with small strokes in a light color.
Step 9
If we spend a little more time on the eyes, our kitten drawing will come across as much more realistic and vibrant as possible. To produce this appearance, paint over the pupils with thick one-layer shading, being care to leave some space around the edges for highlights, as seen in our sample. You should also include some shading on the kitten’s body in other areas.
Step 10
If you followed the steps in the proper order, you should end up with something that looks similar to the kitty cat drawing done by the artists of Drawingforall.net. Please let us know if you found this drawing instruction on how to draw a kitty cat to be of assistance by leaving a comment below. Your suggestions and criticisms are extremely valuable to us. Your suggestions are really valuable in helping us determine which way our drawing guidelines should be moved.

Kitten DrawingStudents who adore drawing everything and anything related to anime may find this new kitten instruction to be particularly useful. The somewhat bigger head gives it a kitten-like appearance, and it has plenty of area for some giant cartoon-style eyes to stand out against the background. The large black pupils and white shining dots are reminiscent of the many cute creatures that may be found in those Japanese-style cartoons. As a side note, please keep in mind that the dark rich orange cat and lush green environs were created using quite expensive….
I’m not serious!
All it is doing is reiterating the point that even with a basic Sharpie can box of Crayolas, you can create vibrant and detailed illustrations.

- Eraser. It is considerably more effective to use large ones that you can hold in your hand rather than simply the pencil tips.
- Sharpie Marker in the color black. These fine point permanent marker pens produce beautiful black outlines, have an excellent tip for coloring, and do not bleed when they come into contact with water. Use them in a well-ventilated area, and place additional paper below to protect your tables from damage.
- Prang Crayons are a brand of crayons. Because they are a little softer than regular crayons, they can occasionally be mistaken for oil pastels. Aside from that, they have some lovely brown tones that Crayola does not carry unless you purchase one of their larger boxes.
- Crayola Crayons are a popular brand of crayons. The dependable brand that dependably performs admirably. The 24 pack has some of my favorite golden orange and yellow hues, which appear to be a little richer and warmer in tone than the ones available from Prang

How to Draw a Cat Tutorial
What you’ll need is the following:
- Paper, pencil or marker, our cat-directed drawing printable (optional), coloring supplies (optional), and a pen or marker
Step by Step Cat Drawing Instructions
Make a rough oval shape for the head to begin with. It might have a boxy shape, a more circular shape, or even a little triangular shape to it.
Step 2
It’s time to get started on a few triangles. Draw two triangle shapes for the ears and one triangle shape for the nose on a piece of construction paper. Alternately, you might shape the nose to be oval or round.
Step 3
Let’s put on our best cat face! Inside the eras, draw two smaller triangle-shaped lines to separate them. There should be two locations for the eyes. Let’s go on to creating the mouth. Begin by drawing a short, straight line from the bottom of the nose down to the tip of the chin. Begin by drawing the mouth curve next to this line (on the left), then bringing it down and back up to meet the line you previously created beneath the nose.
Continue with another arc of the body. Draw a third curve in the space between the first and second curves (in the middle). Completed on the inside of the mouth.
Step 4
Make whiskers out of a piece of paper. In addition, begin sketching the body. Draw two curved lines, one on the left and one on the right, and join them together.
Step 5
Draw your feet together. Begin with the ones in front of you (long U shape). Although the hind legs are not required, I believe they might add a nice touch to the composition.
Step 6
We’re almost finished! There are only a few more details to work out. The line that connects the belly and the tail is similar like claws. Congratulations! In this lesson, you will learn how to draw a cat.
Color
The task is nearly completed. Those are the only remaining details. The line that connects the belly and the tail is similar to claws in that it completes the body. Congratulations! The drawing of a cat is now within reach of you.

Kitten Drawing — How To Draw A Kitten Step By Step
With the kitten’s fluffy body and irresistibly charming face, it’s no surprise that many children of all ages are smitten with these adorable young kittens. Kittens have also long been a fixture in a variety of animated films and television programs, with some of the most well-known characters being Hello Kitty, Tom Cat, and Puss in Boots. Kitty’s endearing characteristics are what make cats such appealing subjects for artists to depict. However, we have put up an easy and straightforward instruction on how to draw a kitten, which is broken down into nine simple steps.
Each stage is supported by easily understandable images that serve as a visual guide as you proceed through the process.
Furthermore, you have the freedom to incorporate your own personal style and improvise at any point during the process.
Allow your imagination to run wild and your creative juices to flow.
How to Draw a Kitten — Let’s get started!
Draw two triangular catears in the upper right corner of your page, then connect them together with a curved downward line to form a triangle. The top of the kitten’s head, as well as its set of ears, are depicted in this drawing. Draw a horizontal and vertical line across the paper to use as reference lines for positioning the outline. This will guarantee that the outline is placed in the proper location. It should be possible to divide your paper into four square sections if the guideline is created correctly.
The outline should be drawn in the space on the upper right corner of the page. You will have enough space to sketch the kitten’s full face and body if you begin in the upper right corner of your page.
Step 2 — Draw an Outline of the Kitten’s Face
Using the lines below the kitten’s ears, draw a line all the way down to the kitten’s chin. The form of the kitten’s face must be a little broader at the button than it is at the top in order to accentuate its chubby cheeks and chin. It is important to remember to put pointy clumps of fur on either side of the face!
Step 3 — Then, Draw the Kitten’s Front Legs
Immediately behind the kitten’s face, draw two front legs that are parallel to one other. Sketching the front legs is as simple as drawing overlapping curving lines below the face, as seen in the figure. To make the kitten appear more fuzzy and fluffy, emphasize the fur on the cat’s breast area.
Step 4 — Draw the Bottom Part of the Kitten’s Body
Draw two front legs next to each other right beneath the kitten’s face. Using overlapping curving lines below the face, you may create the appearance of the front legs, as seen in the diagram. To make the kitten appear more fuzzy and fluffy, emphasize the fur around the cat’s chest area.
Step 5 — Next, Draw the Kitten’s Hind Legs
To highlight the kitten’s thighs, draw another curving line parallel to the kitten’s bottoms. Then, with a paw, draw a leg directly beneath the kitten’s bended thighs to complete the picture. Please don’t forget to draw lines on the kitten’s paw to distinguish the divisions between the claws.
Step 6 — Then, Draw the Kitten’s Tail
Draw a long, fluffy tail on the lower bottom half of the kitten’s body, at the bottom of the body. Creating the tail is as simple as tracing a curled sausage shape, as seen in the figure below. The tail, on the other hand, may be drawn in whatever way you like. The tail may be dressed up to your liking by adding huge clumps of fur sprouting out from various places along the tail.
Step 7 — Outline the Kitten’s Inner Ear
Using the outline we created in the first step, trace inside the ear of the cat and draw a triangle shape matching the outline. This will highlight the interior of the kitten’s ears, giving the kitten’s physical characteristics a more dimensional and realistic appearance.
Step 8 — Now, Draw the Kitten’s Nose and Mouth
Draw an upside-down triangle shape in the centre of the lower section of the face to represent the kitten’s nose. Then, to outline the mouth, draw two curved lines just beneath the nose, one on per side. Cat’s mouth should have the shape of the letter “w,” as shown below.
Step 9 — Afterwards, Draw the Kitten’s Eyes
In the area directly over the nose, draw two vertical oval shapes that are slightly apart from one another. Within the eyes, draw two more little oval shapes to complete the design. To produce a lovely “glimmering eyes” effect, shade the side of the eyes that is closest to the little dots inside the eyes. Don’t be afraid to include any more face traits that you believe will look fantastic. If you like, you may even add eyelashes and whiskers to your character! Last but not least, comes the most fun part: adding color to your fantastic picture!
Kittens are available in a variety of hues, with the most common being white, black, ginger, grey, cream, brown, cinnamon, and fawn being the most popular.
This provides you with a plethora of possibilities for coloring your kitty!
Make whatever changes you want to your kitty drawing and color it as you want with any colors you want! And while you’re doing it, why not experiment with other coloring materials such as watercolors and brush pens as well as different coloring techniques?

How to Draw a Cartoon Kitty Cat (Hello Kitty) for Kids
Hello Kitty (full name Kitty White) is a fictitious character conceived by Yuko Shimizu and now designed by Yuko Yamaguchi for the Japanese firm Sanrio. Hello Kitty’s full name is Kitty White. With a red ribbon around her neck, she is shown as an anthropomorphic white Japanese bobtail cat. When the figure first appeared on a piece of merchandise, it was a vinyl coin purse, which was initially released in Japan in 1974 and then imported to the United States in 1976. The figure is a mainstay of the kawaii part of Japanese popular culture, and he has appeared in several films and television shows.
By 2014, when Hello Kitty became 40 years old, the brand was worth $7 billion per year, and this was all without the use of advertising.
She may be seen on a wide range of objects, ranging from school supplies to fashion accessories and high-end consumer products, among other things.
Hello Kitty is also the primary figure for the two Japanese Sanrio theme parks, Harmonyland and the indoor Sanrio Puroland, both of which are dedicated to the character.
Here are the steps to draw a Hello Kitty. Enjoy!
Step 1: Draw the face, two ears, and a bow-knot on the forehead. Step 2: Make two eyes, one nose, and whiskers on her face with a black marker. Step 3: Sketch her figure and her skirt in pencil. Step 4: Create her adorable legs. Using two arms and two hands, complete the drawing. Step 6: Make the bow-tie and blouse red, and the skirt pink with blue buttons on it (see photo).
Hello Kitty Theme Song
The first step is to draw the face, two ears, and a bow-knot on the forehead. Fill up the rest of her facial features with two eyes, one nose, and whiskers.
Step 3: Sketch her torso and her skirt in the appropriate places. Drawing her beautiful legs is the fourth step. Using two arms and two hands, draw a complete figure. 6) Color the bowtie and blouse red, the skirt pink with blue buttons, and the hat black.

Parents should be aware of the following: An eraser, a pencil, and a sheet of paper are the only materials you’ll need to follow along with these how-to-draw lessons. However, if you have access to one, a sketching pencil produces fainter and softer lines that aid in the development of fine motor skills in children. I also recommend that you go over the sketch pencil lines with a black outline marker once you’re finished to give it a more professional appearance. Finally, before applying color, remove all of the pencil markings.
Step-by-Step Tutorial on How to Draw a Cat
- I’m channeling Garfield here, but the faces and bodies of cartoon cats are often round and heavy. Consequently, let’s begin by sketching an oval-shaped face with two little circular eyes inside it that are parallel to each other. With their facial traits, cats are easily differentiated from other animals, so let’s add some additional details. Draw an inverted triangle nose in the midst of your cat’s eyes, with two adjacent lines below the nose, each pointing in the opposite way, in the middle of your cat’s eyes
- Cats have a variety of features, including ears and whiskers, in addition to eyes, nose, and mouth. Using the top-sides of the face, create two triangles that are opposed to each other, with a smaller triangle within each of them. Next, draw three horizontal lines parallel to each other on either side of the cat’s face, one on each side of the cat’s face. Allow these lines to overflow the face since they represent the whiskers. Draw a larger oval than the head and two curving lines for the cat’s feet since I prefer cats with a fluffy body. Keep in mind to place another pair of feet in between them to complete your cat’s set of feet. As the tail of a cat is extremely sensitive and expressive, create an enclosed s-shaped curve line going upward, which will make the cat appear enthusiastic. My orangey-colored fluffy cat has a similar appearance to Garfield. You have the option of selecting the color and breed of your cat.

Get familiar with the basics of cat anatomy
The most effective technique to learn how to draw animals is to become familiar with their anatomy. Take some time to observe and learn more about real-life cats, including their postures, traits, and poses. In the absence of a cat, you may view footage of cats in activity on the internet. Cat anatomy illustrations and texts may also be used to learn about the bone and muscular structure of the cat in more detail.

Observing the anatomy of animals is the most effective method of learning how to sketch them. Take some time to observe and learn more about real-life cats, including their postures, traits, and poses, by paying attention to them. In the absence of a cat, you may view footage of cats in motion on the internet or on television. Cat anatomy illustrations and publications may also be used to learn about the bone and muscular structure of the cat in question.
Gather your art materials
To sketch your cat, all you will need is a pencil and a sheet of paper to get started. If you wish to provide shade for your cat, you will need to purchase some more art supplies.
- 1 kneadable eraser (a reusable poster putty tack or a kneadable eraser will work just as well)
- (Optional, if you wish to combine the colors afterward.) 1 paper stump This item may be purchased at an art or craft store)
A step-by-step guide to drawing a cat
Let’s get started on drawing a cat that appears to be realistic.
Step 1: Draw a vertical line
Beginning with a light sketch of a vertical line of whichever length you like, begin working on your construction drawing (I chose seven inches long.) Alternatively, you can draw your line using a ruler or by utilizing the motion of your shoulder and a stiff wrist as guiding lines. Your vertical center guideline is this line, and you’ll use it to compare all of your different sizes, angles, and shapes to. Tip: You should constantly be aware of where the beginning and finish of your line are. Make a mark at the top and bottom of this vertical line by drawing a small horizontal line at the top and bottom of the line.
- Then divide the vertical line in half.
- After that, divide each side of your line in two again.
- Tip:Make sure that each of your four divisions is the same length as the others by measuring them one by one.
- You may use your pencil to measure by aligning the tip with the beginning of a tab, pinch-gripping your pencil behind your hand, and touching the other tab with your other hand.
Carry your pencil all the way down to the next one and double-check. Make adjustments to your divisions until they are all around the same size.
Step 2: Draw a large oval for the body
Beginning with a light sketch of a vertical line of whichever length you like, begin working on your building drawing (I chose seven inches long.) Alternatively, you may draw your line using a ruler or by utilizing the motion of your shoulder and a stiff wrist as a guide. Your vertical center guideline is this line, and you’ll use it to compare all of your different sizes, angles, and forms. Always be aware of where your line begins and ends, since this will help you to avoid confusion later.
- Tab, as in tabular form.
- After that, divide each side of your line in half one more and repeat.
- Tip: Make sure that each of your four divisions is the same length as the others by measuring them one by one.
- By aligning the tip of your pencil with the beginning of a tab and pinch-gripping your pencil behind your hand and touching the other tab, you may measure with your pencil.
- Continually adjust your divisions until they are all roughly equal in size.
Step 3: Draw a circle for the cat head
A circle might serve as the starting point for your cat head. Later on, during the outline sketching stage, we will add angles and curves to the cat’s face and characteristics to make them more refined. The top of your circle should be started just a little bit lower than the top of the center vertical guideline and should be finished when it crosses over and just below the top of the huge oval body. Draw a horizontal guideline to assist you in distributing the width uniformly on both sides of the vertical line.
You may also make an educated guess on the breadth of your cat’s head.
Step 4: Draw the cat ears as two triangle shapes
In this stage, you will design two triangles that will subsequently be used to create the ears by adding curves to them. To begin, draw a vertical line straight up from the outside of the circle’s center and stopping it at the height of the central vertical guideline. Repeat this process on the other side of the triangle. Carry out this procedure on both sides of the cat’s head circle. Keep this line straight to your center vertical guideline, as shown in the illustration. Drawing a diagonal line down from the tip of the triangle ear form to where it intersects with the circle will complete each triangle.
This will generate a triangle on each side of the head for the cat ears, which will be seen through the eyes.
Step 5: Draw ovals for the 4 cat paws
Now, at the foot of the circle, draw two bigger ovals to represent the paws of the two front leg limbs. Take note of the fact that these two ovals are spaced at a slight distance apart. They’re also at the same height as the lowest marker on the vertical line, which is a nice touch.
Draw two smaller ovals a little higher up the page to represent the paws on the back legs of the creature. This will give the impression that they are a little further back in the distance than the ones in front of them.
Step 6: Draw 4 long ovals for legs
Once you have completed the basic forms of your cat, add two large ovals for the front legs and two smaller ovals for the rear legs to finish the overall look. Tip: The two larger ovals in front of the main circle body come up to just below half of the circle’s overall height. They are somewhat angled outwards from the center. Compared to the front legs, the smaller ovals for the back legs are lower and also on a little outwards angle. The oval legs come into contact with the ovals on your cat’s paws.
Step 7: Draw the shapes for your cat nose, eyes, and mouth
For the cat’s nose, draw a little upside-down triangle on the paper. It is easy to see how a triangle begins to form at the top of the huge body oval. Basically, it’s a small horizontal line that is drawn uniformly on both sides of the center vertical guideline on both sides of the page. Add two diagonal lines (one on each end of the horizontal line) that intersect at the centre vertical guideline to complete your upside-down triangular cat nose shape. In order to climb upwards, draw one angled line on either side of the top of the nose, then continue these upwards until they are just past the halfway point of your circle.
Place them a short distance away from one another, using the angles you just made as a reference to determine where they should be placed on the table.
Step 8: Draw the outline curves on the face, limbs, and body
To make the snout of your cat, draw a little upside-down triangle. Take note of how the triangle begins at the top of the huge body oval’s upper portion. Basically, it’s a small horizontal line that is drawn uniformly on both sides of the center vertical guideline on either side of the paper. Complete your upside-down triangular cat nose shape by drawing two diagonal lines (one on each end of the horizontal line) that intersect at the center of the vertical guideline to complete the shape. As you work your way up the nose, add one angled line on either side of the bridge of the nose, and continue these upwards until you reach just above the halfway point of your circle.
Place them a short distance away from one another, using the angles you just produced as a reference to determine where they should be placed on the page.
Step 9: Erase all the construction drawing shapes
Remove all of the extraneous guidelines and carefully remove your outline before you begin adding the cat fur to your design.
Step 10: Draw the fur outline
Take note of the direction in which the little fur marks have been applied. Ensure that you always work in the same direction as the underlying body. Some of the strokes will be curled, while others will be a little more straight. A good rule of thumb is that fur on the face grows upward and outward from the nose and eyes. Look at this image of a cat for an illustration of the fur pattern in order to obtain a better knowledge of it. You may declare your cat a finished outline drawing at this point, or you can continue to create shape by shading in the following step.
Step 11: Shade the body
To complete this phase, all you will need is a paper stub to gently drag the graphite around the image. Starting at the base of the cat’s body, you may add some shading with graphite to the darker shadows there. That region should be blended. Use the graphite on your stump to blend in the rest of the cat’s features. You may also remove part of the graphite from the fur sections, apply more delicate strokes in the direction of the fur, and then blend the area as needed to achieve the desired effect.
Make a paper stump and point it in the direction of the fur. You may use your kneadable eraser, which has been shaped like a small ball with a peak on it, to peel back part of the graphite and then blend around the edges to soften the area again if you have over-covered it.
Finishing up and planning your next project
To complete this phase, all you will need is a paper stump, which you will use to gently pull the graphite all around the image. Starting at the base of the cat’s body, you may add some shading with a little graphite to the darker shadows there. That particular section should be blended together. Use the graphite on your stump to blend in other portions of the cat’s body. If you want to add more delicate strokes in the direction of the fur, you may also take some graphite away from the fur sections and blend the area as necessary.
The fur should be pushed away from you with your cardboard stump.
